Based on the results of January-November 2017, the share of the automotive industry in mechanical engineering production in the Republic of Kazakhstan in monetary terms was 17%. In total, the volume of mechanical engineering output since the beginning of the year amounted to 790,8 billion tenge.

Kostanay region is the leader in the volume of industrial production of motor vehicles in monetary terms (including trailers and semi-trailers). In this region, vehicles worth 63,3 billion tenge were produced, which corresponds to a 47,86% share of the total volume. Let us remind you that in this area there are plants of SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP and AgromashHolding JSC. The second place in terms of production volume is occupied by the East Kazakhstan region with a result of 44,6 billion tenge or 33,78% of the total result. Automobile plants of Asia Auto JSC, SemAZ LLP and Daewoo Bus Kazakhstan LLP are located in this area. The Akmola region, where the Kamaz-Engineering plant is located, closes the top three with a result of 13,6 billion tenge and a 10,35% share in production volume.

SaryarkaAvtoProm and Asia Auto occupy leading positions in the production of vehicles in monetary and physical terms, respectively.

The increase in production volume in 2017 at the SaryarkaAvtoProm plant is associated with the completion of the modernization stage of production sites, which contributed to an increase in production of such represented brands as Hyundai, Jac, Iveco and Peugeot. Also in 2017, the plant successfully started production of Ravon Nexia R3 and Chevrolet Niva cars (960 units and 453 units, respectively, for 11 months of 2017).

The passenger car segment remains the leader in production. It accounts for 88,14% of the total quantitative production volume or 14 units. for 585 months of 11, which is 2017 times higher than the same result for 3. In 2016, the same figure was 24,43% of total sales. The main reasons are subsidizing interest rates on car loans and preferential leasing. Also, Kazakh cars have a price advantage, which, given the depreciation of the national currency, allows manufacturers to pursue a more flexible pricing policy.
