AllurAuto and the Akimat of Almaty signed a memorandum on the development of infrastructure for electric vehicles

Akim of the city Baurzhan Baibek is developing infrastructure for electric vehicles in Almaty

As part of the meeting between the Akim of the city of Almaty, Baurzhan Baibek, and the business structures of the city, a memorandum of mutual cooperation was signed with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company AllurGroup Andrey Lavrentiev.

The signed memorandum of mutual cooperation by AllurGroup involves the placement of 40 electric filling stations for electric vehicles in the city of Almaty, which is one of the key directions of the concept of the transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to a “green economy” for 2013 – 2020. In addition, the company plans to provide the akimat with three electric vehicles for testing for 30 days.

“Over 25 years, the number of cars in Almaty has increased 10 times. Now there are 570 thousand cars in the city and 270 thousand in the region. That is, only 840 thousand cars enter and leave the city every day. The state has invested about 500 billion tenge in Almaty's transport infrastructure over the past 10 years. Today, all the necessary infrastructure in the city has been created, but we already see that we must move to a different, European paradigm, when cars begin to be forced out of city centers, and electric cars are a step to improve the environmental condition of the city and its innovative development. Almaty must develop in accordance with world standards,” said Baurzhan Baibek.

During the meeting, models of the following electric vehicles JAC iEV5 (sedan), JAC iEV6S (SUV) were presented.

After signing the memorandum, the city akim personally tested the JAC iEV6S electric car, assembled at the facilities of a domestic automobile enterprise. It is worth noting that those present were surprised by the driving style of the akim, who demonstrated the skill of extreme driving.

Andrey Lavrentyev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AllurGroup, noted: “The introduction of electric vehicles into operation will improve the environmental situation in the largest metropolis of Kazakhstan, Almaty, and this is one of the stages in the city’s transition to a “green economy.” Today, the Akimat is already working to install 10 electric filling stations, and there are also private electric filling stations that have already been installed. And we plan to commission 40 electric filling stations together with the Akimat of Almaty before the start of EXPO-2017.”

Baurzhan Baibek was particularly interested in the presentation of technologically advanced electric vehicles. After the test drive, Baurzhan Baibek, when asked by journalists whether he liked the electric car, noted: “A very good and fast electric car, excellent aerodynamics, modern design. Electric cars do not require extra costs, I think it is convenient, modern, efficient, technologically advanced, and most importantly, an environmentally friendly form of transport, I think this is the future.”

The advantage of these electric vehicles is that the cost of operating electric vehicles is significantly reduced compared to analogues using conventional fuel. Cost of consumption – an electric car runs on a conventional charger – 1 km. mileage consumes an average of 0,135 kWh of energy, which corresponds to less than 1 tenge (when operating in night mode).
