The Automobile Business Association of Kazakhstan participated in the expert panel at Automechanika Tashkent 2025.

The event brought together key players in the Central Asian automotive market—heads of industry associations, representatives of automakers, distributors, dealers, and experts from think tanks. Discussions focused on the dynamics of industry change, the development of dealer infrastructure, improving the quality of after-sales service, localizing production, and implementing modern technologies.

Participation of the Automobile Business Association of Kazakhstan

Irina Shevchenko, Head of the Analytical Department of the Association of Automobile Businesses of Kazakhstan (AKAB), spoke on behalf of the Association. In her report, she outlined the development dynamics of the Kazakhstan automotive market and noted the importance of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

  • The vehicle fleet is being updated: the share of new cars is growing, and the used car market remains active (+12% resale).
  • The influence of Chinese brands is rapidly growing—their share of new registrations has reached 42%, and localization continues: four Chinese brands are already assembled in Kazakhstan.
  • The electric vehicle market is experiencing a new surge in growth amid rising fuel prices and increased consumer interest in alternative technologies.

The significance of the event
