Kazakhstan automobile market in May 2018

* In May, Kazakhstanis spent 48,2 billion tenge (USD 147 million) for the purchase of new cars, trucks and buses.
* The average cost of a new passenger car in January-May amounted to – 8 tenge.

According to Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB) May was the most productive month this year, dealers sold 4 661 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles and 602 units of heavy commercial equipment. Sales since the beginning of the year are at 21 586 units, per 40% more than the same period last year.

Toyota tops the top ten best-selling passenger cars in May again - 1204 car (+ 51,6 % to the previous month). The surge in activity is associated with the start of sales of the new generation Camry. Toyota dealers began collecting orders for the new sedan back in April; 15 Toyota dealers began shipping the first cars to their owners in early May; there is a Camry shortage on the market, which will last at least until the end of summer.

Another brand that showed the greatest growth is Hyundai (871 units; +79,2%), continues to strengthen its position with cars produced in Kostanay and maintain third position on the chart. Another Korean brand Kia from Ust-Kamenogorsk sells worse – 198 sedans and crossovers (-30%). Fifth position Renault (175; +28,7%). Nissan with the result 166 units in sixth position (+ 30,7%). In seventh position Lexus (134; -6,3%). Eighth place for cars JAC Kostanay production – 127 (-9,3%). Rounding out the TOP 10 are: Volkswagen (115; -11,5%) и Chevrolet (96; -4%).

In terms of models in May, it is the undisputed leader Toyota Camry - 595 sedans. In second position Lada granta - 356 units Closes the top three Hyundai accent produced by "SaraarkaAvtoProm" - 302 a car. Lada 4 × 4 in fourth position - 202 SUVs.
