Today, the localization level is 33%, and the share of domestically produced vehicles in the overall sales structure in August approached 35%. AKAB member - SaryarkaAvtoProm JSC (AllurGroup Group of Companies) was the first in the industry to switch to CKD production (small-knot production).

Speaking at the IV Forum of Mechanical Engineers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of AKAB Andrey Lavrentyev said that: “the majority of Kazakhstan factories have fulfilled their investment obligations regarding localization.

We have reached new levels. I am ready to report what the companies did in 2016, namely: the Hyundai company entered export markets, the Semaz plant supplied welding and painting on bodies, the Kostanay factories are in the process of implementing a large global CKD project: welding, painting of Peugeot cars, Jac cars, which new investors came from China - this is what we were doing, increasing localization no matter what.”

In the near future, the model range of Kazakh cars will be replenished with Ankai buses, a licensing agreement for which was signed the other day.

ACAB members plan to significantly expand the production line in all segments and pay maximum attention to attracting innovative and environmentally friendly technologies to Kazakhstan.

It is worth noting that leading international experts, such as leading international analyst Autostat and international partner of Price Waterhouse Coopers - Christoph Stürmer, international expert of the global automotive industry Mark Richardson and General Director of the Chinese Automotive Industry Advisory Committee An Qing Heng, assessing the prospects of the Kazakh automotive market, noted the need to develop joint projects related to innovative technologies and new business models. Because this is a global trend in the automotive industry, which in any case will reach Kazakhstan.

Chinese investors have already invested $32,5 million in the development of automobile production. and express further interest in developing technological cooperation with Kazakhstan and increasing joint production in the field of electric vehicles. Let us recall that China is currently the world leader in the budget electric car segment, having sold more than 330 thousand electric vehicles of its own production in 2015.
