Kazakhstanis were paid almost 3,5 billion tenge for car disposal

In total, during the period of the program for the redemption of old cars in Kazakhstan, 23 vehicles were handed over for recycling. The amount of compensation paid for all categories amounted to 030 billion tenge.

According to AKAB data received from the ROP Operator, the most popular models handed over for recycling are VAZ-2105, VAZ-2106, VAZ 2101, GAZ 3110, Moskvich-2140 and Mazda 626.

The “oldest” vehicle included in the VETS buyback program was a “Moskvich” produced in 1946 in Semey, and the “youngest” were 2 cars produced in 2014.

Popular global car brands also arrive at the collection points of the ROP Operator: “Mazda”, “Volkswagen”, “Honda”.

In March 2017, a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV was accepted for further recycling in Atyrau, and in May the list of unusual cars was supplemented by a 924 Porsche 1985 sports car, delivered in Taldykorgan

The leader in the acceptance of old cars is Shymkent, where 2980 cars were collected, Kostanay is in second place, 1825 cars were collected there, and Taldykorgan closes the top three, where 1597 out-of-service vehicles were purchased.

In category VETS 1 (150 thousand tenge), 22 vehicles were accepted; in category VETS 998, 2 vehicles were handed over for further disposal.

The average age of vehicles accepted for recycling is in the range of 25 -30 years.
