| According to Association of Kazakhstan Automotive Business (AKAB) According to the results of the first quarter of 2019, the Ministry of Internal Affairs registered 280 892 vehicles (including cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles and trailers), on 8,1% more than in the first three months of 2018. Secondary registration is required 264 398 units – 94,13% of the total number of registrations. Almost half of all registered vehicles are over 20 years old (118 594 units). From 10 to 20 years – 71 590 units. For equipment aged from 3 to 10 years, there are 65 866 unit, up to 3 years – 24 772 auto, while 62%, or 15 444 Three-year-olds were registered for the first time. The share of primary registrations fell in the first quarter (5,87% против 6,31% last year), however, in quantitative terms it is comparable to last year, the initial registration was put 16 494 vehicles against 16 394 in 2018, respectively. From 16 494 units - 13 504 passenger cars, 1 571 trailer, 645 trucks, 396 buses, 190 minibuses and 188 motorcycles. Taking into account the secondary market, the leader among passenger vehicles in Kazakhstan in terms of number of registrations remains Toyota - 41 671 units. In the second position Lada (VAZ) - 39 353unit. Closes out the top three Volkswagen - 20 934 registratio. |

In terms of models, Kazakhstanis prefer Toyota Camry all years of production (16 691 (units). Volkswagen Passat mainly from the 90s in second place (9,081 units), the top three is rounded out by another one Volkswagen - Golf (5 863 units). The top five most popular also include Daewoo nexia (5 349 units), Audi 100 (5 098 (units).
Every fifth car in the first quarter was registered to a woman. Interestingly, preferences for car color are not determined by gender. When purchasing a new vehicle, both men and women prefer white cars.5 538 units), gray and shades in the second position (2 762 units), black cars – 1 795 .
Based on the results of three months, the leader in terms of regions is Alma-Ata's region, here in January-March it was registered 42 295 vehicles. The second and third positions in the regional rankings are Almaty (35 247 (units) and Turkestan region (26 989unit). In the capital of the country registered 23 021 cars, 20,383 units were registered in Shymkent in three months. The largest number of new cars are sold in Almaty (3 346 units), Nur-Sultan (2 407 (units) and Atyrau region — 1 349 primary registrations.

They also include inheritance, gifting, lease, changes to the registration document (installation of LPG equipment, other changes to the vehicle's technical specifications), and replacement of the vehicle registration certificate and state registration plate due to relocation to another region or loss.
Vehicle registrations include the following types of vehicles: passenger cars (including light commercial vehicles weighing up to 3,5 tonnes), minibuses, buses (with more than 16 seats, excluding the driver's seat), trucks (weighing over 3,5 tonnes), trailers and semi-trailers.
