The line of Kazakhstan-made cars was replenished with 2017 new models in 9

Since 2017, production of Chevrolet NIVA, RAVON Nexia R3, Lada Vesta, Xray, Largus passenger cars, Iveco Crossway buses, IVECO New Daily school buses, as well as UzAvtoTRAILER trailers has been launched at production sites in Kazakhstan.

According to the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business, car production in Kazakhstan in the first 5 months of this year increased by more than 4 times compared to last year, the production of passenger and commercial vehicles exceeded last year's figures by 440%. In total, from January to May, Kazakh enterprises - according to the planning and economic departments of enterprises - produced 6 vehicles (including cars, trucks and buses, excluding agricultural machinery, trailers and semi-trailers) for a total amount of more than 803 billion tenge.

In May, all manufacturing enterprises in Kazakhstan showed an increase in production.

There was also a redistribution of shares in nominal terms compared to the previous month. Thus, the share of SaryarkaAvtoProm increased to 40,1%, and the share of Asia Auto decreased to 51,8%, the share of Kamaz Engineering and Hyundai Auto Trans increased to 3,2 and 4,1%, respectively.

In total, enterprises - members of the Association - produced products worth 23,6 billion tenge for the period from January to May.

According to AKAB, the largest production volume is in the passenger car segment; in 2017, 2653 cars rolled off the assembly lines of Kazakh automakers. SUVs are also not lagging behind in terms of production volume - 2309 units have been produced since the beginning of the year. Next in the ranking are minivans with a production rate of 1218 units.

Sales of domestically produced cars are growing in proportion to the growth in output. The share of Kazakhstani-made cars increased to 36,4% of total sales in May versus 34,3% in April; compared to May 2016, the share of sales of Kazakhstani cars increased by 12,1%. In total, 2017 cars produced by domestic automakers were sold in 5243.

The volume of investment in the industry has also increased significantly. According to the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the 1st quarter of 2017, 2,8 billion tenge was invested in the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers. This is more than the entire volume of investments in 2016, when 2,06 billion tenge was invested in the fixed capital of manufacturers.

The main volume of investments comes from producers' own funds - 79% of the total amount or 2,2 billion tenge. The remaining 21% or 591,7 million tenge are bank loans.
