Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, July 21, 2022 – The new modern Kazakhstani plant for the production of buses and commercial vehicles, QazTehna, located in Saran, Karaganda region, announces its first production results for the first time since its opening in December 2020.
Over the entire reporting period, including the twelve months of 2021 and the first six months of 2022, the plant produced more than 260 ergonomic low-floor city buses and new generation electric buses for public transport, equipped with a folding ramp for boarding and disembarking passengers with limited mobility. Moreover, the buses are equipped with modern equipment to increase comfort and safety: a navigation system, video surveillance, a contactless fare payment system, air conditioning in the bus interior and in the driver’s cabin.
By the end of this year, the Kazakh plant QazTehna plans to supply more than 700 buses and electric buses as part of programs to update and modernize public transport, of which more than 280 are school buses of increased comfort and safety for the needs of educational institutions in nine regions of the Republic, including Akmola, Mangistau, Aktobe , Almaty, Karaganda, Atyrau and others.
The technological partner of the QazTehna plant is the world's largest manufacturer of passenger vehicles. yutong, which, as part of the partnership, gradually transfers production technologies to the Kazakhstan plant, allowing QazTehna to increase the level of localization of its own production and critical competencies over 50% over the next five years
General Director of the QazTehna plant Argulan Maykonov сказал:

Over the past two years, we have shown good results and see the demand for our product, so today all our efforts are aimed at bringing the plant to full design capacity».
The QazTehna plant is located on the territory of the industrial zone of the single-industry town of Saran and actively invests resources in the development of the city, inviting local residents to train and retrain, from whom the core of the team has already been formed. After the plant reaches its full design capacity, the expected number of new jobs will be up to 1000.
