As part of a worldwide campaign by Subaru car manufacturer Fuji Heavy Industries, distributor Subaru Kazakhstan announces a recall campaign for 2004-2007 Impreza/WRX equipped with Takata Corp. front passenger airbag. According to Fuji Heavy Industries, 405 cars sold through official dealerships in Kazakhstan.
The reason for the recall campaign was the unlikely, however, possible penetration of moisture into the airbag gas generator after a long time of operation of the car. Doing so could damage the gas generator housing and, if the passenger's frontal airbag deploys, increase the risk of injury.
To date, there has not been a single case of damage to the gas generator of the frontal airbag on Subaru vehicles when it is triggered.
All work on this recall campaign will be performed free of charge for owners of cars that fall under the recall.
To find out if your car is eligible for this campaign, you need to contact an authorized Subaru dealer and provide the vehicle's VIN number.
*Recall campaigns are the activities of automakers related to the elimination of breakdowns or design flaws identified over time after the release of the car.
Such events are held all over the world and in different states may differ for many reasons. It depends both on the assembly of the car and on the conditions of its operation.
