The official automobile market of Kazakhstan in May remained at the level of April results – 9392 units. (Nissan sales not included). A total of 44192 units have been sold since the beginning of this year. new cars. This is 28,63% less than last year's figures.
Sales of domestically produced cars almost doubled compared to the previous month (2611 units versus 1248 units in April). The share of Kazakhstani cars amounted to 27,8% of total official sales for the reporting month. Thus, Kazakh cars increased their market share by 14,53% compared to April. The most popular cars were Kia, Hyundai, Skoda, SsangYong and Peugeot.
The implementation of the preferential car loan program showed its first positive results. According to DBK, as of June 2, the amount of confirmed applications amounted to 8846,9 million tenge. The amount of actual loans issued was 2217,29 million tenge.
The number of sales of imported new cars fell by 16,8% compared to April (6776 units versus 8144 units). In particular, the share of Russian cars fell (5550 units versus 6664 units). The largest losses fall on the key brands of the neighboring country - Lada, Uaz, Gaz, Kamaz. Japanese-made cars such as Toyota LC Prado and Rav4, Lexus with LX and RX models, Mitsubishi ASX and Infiniti Qx50 and Qx80 show quantitative growth compared to April.
In May, the most popular cars remained in the price range of 10-15 thousand USD, despite the quantitative decrease in sales of these cars compared to April. The maximum growth rate in month-on-month comparison was shown by cars costing 25-40 thousand (+26,68%). Also cars from the price range of 20-25 thousand. USD and 15-20 thousand USD showed a quantitative increase of 25,47% and 10,87%, respectively.
Preferential lending activated the financial structures of automobile companies in Kazakhstan, which in turn created competing car lending products. Thus, Renault launched a program together with the Eurasian Bank, thanks to which you can purchase cars on credit at a rate of 4,6%, depending on the amount of the down payment. Subaru offers lending at a rate of 4% under the special “Subaru Finance” program. Toyota, together with Toyota Finance, offers Fortuner car financing at an effective rate of 6%. There is a special program for lending a Toyota Highlander car from 0% per annum.
