Official sales of new cars in August 2015

According to preliminary data from AKAB, in August 2015, official dealers sold 6755 units. new cars. Compared to July figures, sales decreased by 23%. Thus, since the beginning of the year, official dealers have sold 68582 units. new cars, which is 36% lower than the results of January-August 2014 (107167 units).

In addition to the traditional August decline in demand, last month's low figure is the result of a marked increase in sales in previous months, which was preceded by market subsidy programs and car dealership discount programs, which were later followed by declines. An important factor influencing the decline in sales growth was a new wave of ruble weakening. This caused an increase in demand for Russian cars
