NEW CAR SALES RISED BY 25,4% IN AUGUST - AKAB

According to the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB), sales of new cars in August 2021 increased by a quarter compared to August last year. Kazakhstani dealers sold 10 cars and light commercial vehicles, as well as 668 trucks and buses. In annual terms, the results were as close as possible to the figures for 743 - 2021 units versus 74 units.

 “Kazakhstan’s auto business continues to quickly rebuild against the backdrop of a significant reduction in imports from Russia. Manufacturers are successfully finding new logistics routes for the supply of components and are actively saturating the domestic market with new models. Importers and dealers, in turn, refocused on new brands.", - comments Anar Makasheva, Vice President ACAB.

Top ten brands in August (fourth month in a row) continues to lead Chevrolet - 3 854 cars (+ 75,4 % by August 2021), Hyundai on the second line with the result 2 226 cars (+ 42,9 %) in third position Kia - 1 485 units (+ 80 %). results Toyota998 cars sold (-1,4%). In fifth place Lada - 592 units (-17,3%). Chery improves position for the second month in a row (519 units), JAC in seventh place - 292 units, another newcomer is in eighth place EXEED - 233 crossovers sold. Next on the list: Lexus (231 units; + 212 %) and Renault (59 units; -80,8%).

 

TOP-10 the most popular models in August 2022: Chevrolet Cobalt – (2 193 units), Chevrolet Nexia (1 136 units), and Hyundai Tucson (804 units). Next on the list: Kia Sportage (525 units). Toyota LC Prado (488 units), Hyundai Elantra (398 units). For the first time in the top ten - Kia K5 (305 units), Chery Tigo 8 Pro (275 units) and Chevrolet Equinox (217 units). Lada Vest with the result 214 sold cars closes the list.

Based on the results of eight months, it is in the lead Chevrolet (20 485 units; + 2,2 %), on the second line with the result 17 789 cars sold – Hyundai (+ 12,6 %), third position Kia - 8 391 cars (+ 36,7 %). Dealers Toyota have implemented 6 409 cars (-30,3%). The top five best-selling brands is completed by Lada - 6 331 units (+ 30,9 %).
