NEW CAR SALES UP 25,4% IN AUGUST - AQAB

According to the Kazakhstan Auto Business Association (AKAB), sales of new cars in August 2021 increased by a quarter compared to August last year. Kazakh dealers sold 10 cars and light commercial vehicles, as well as 668 trucks and buses. In annual terms, the results are as close as possible to the figures of 743 - 2021 units against 74 units.

 “Kazakhstan's auto business continues to quickly rebuild against the backdrop of a multiple reduction in imports from Russia. Manufacturers successfully find new logistical ways to supply components and actively saturate the domestic market with new models. Importers and dealers, in turn, refocused on new brands.”, - comments Anar Makasheva, Vice President AKAB.

Top ten brands in August (fourth consecutive month) continues to lead Chevrolet - 3 854 cars (+ 75,4 % by August 2021), Hyundai on the second line with the result 2 226 cars (+ 42,9 %) in the third position Kia - 1 485 units (+ 80 %). results Toyota — 998 cars sold (-1,4%). In fifth place Lada - 592 units (-17,3%). Chery improves positions for the second month in a row (519 units), JAC in seventh place 292 unit, on the eighth line is another newcomer EXEED - 233 sold crossovers. Next on the list: Lexus (231 units; + 212 %) and Renault (59 units; -80,8%).

 

TOP-10 the most popular models in August 2022: Chevrolet Cobalt – (2 193 units), Chevrolet Nexia (1 136 units), and Hyundai Tucson (804 units). Next on the list: Kia Sportage (525 units). Toyota LC Prado (488 units), Hyundai Elantra (398 units). For the first time in the "top ten" - Kia K5 (305 units), Chery Tigo 8 Pro (275 units) and Chevrolet Equinox (217 units). Lada Vest with the result 214 sold cars closes the list.

Leader after eight months Chevrolet (20 485 units; + 2,2 %), on the second line with the result 17 789 cars sold - Hyundai (+ 12,6 %), third position Kia - 8 391 cars (+ 36,7 %). Dealers Toyota have implemented 6 409 cars (-30,3%). The top five best-selling brands closes Lada - 6 331 units (+ 30,9 %).
