- In January-March, Kazakhstanis purchased 37 units. new cars, trucks and buses
According to Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB) in March 2023, sales of new cars in Kazakhstan, despite the spring holidays, remained at the highest level - 13 007 passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, as well as 686 trucks, special equipment and buses. The best result for three months, the increase compared to March last year was 27,8%. Total sales in the first quarter of 2023 37 283 car vs 22 370 units last year (+ 66,7 %).
The top ten brands in March, for the first time this year, are headed by Hyundai – 3 units. (+757% by March 2022). Chevrolet dealers sold 3 cars (+516%), Kia with a result of 103,4 units. (+2%) closes the top three. In addition to the popularity of cars localized in Kazakhstan, importers of Chinese brands are also active.
Chery is trying to gain a foothold in fourth position – 712 units. (+204,3%), fifth place for Toyota – 590 units. (-14,9%). Toyota will strengthen its position with the resumption of Camry sales in April. Exeed, in sixth place with 506 cars sold. Next on the list: Jac (362 units; +76,6%), Changan (314 units), Haval (310 units; +66,7%) and Lexus (307 units; +192,4%).
In the context of models on the first line in March Chevrolet Cobalt with the result 2 364 units, Hyundai Tucson already traditionally in second place 1 391 units, closes the top three - Kia Sportage (1 062 units). Next on the list: Chevrolet Nexia (865 units.), Hyundai St. Fe (706 units.), Hyundai Sonata (534 units.), Hyundai Elantra (449 units.), Kia Sorento (381 units.), Chery Tigo 7Pro (348 units) and Hyundai Accent (268 units).
