The marketing report was prepared using desk research. The primary sources of information include proprietary databases, data from the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as information obtained directly from market participants. The data presented in the report is structured and compiled into tables, illustrated with graphs and charts where necessary.

 

The first chapter of the review contains information on investments in fixed capital of motor vehicle production from 2014 to 2018; motor vehicle production in the structure of industrial production of the Republic of Kazakhstan since 2010; the volume of industrial output in mechanical engineering by type of economic activity; the dynamics of the volume of automobile production by plant, brand and model, broken down into passenger cars, trucks and buses; the dynamics of taxes and other mandatory payments to the budget from manufacturers of cars and other motor vehicles since 2014.

 

The second chapter examines the areas of state support for the automotive industry in Kazakhstan; covers industrial assembly, free economic zones, and free warehouses as means of state regulation of the automotive industry in the country; reflects on the state of foreign and mutual trade within the EAEU; analyzes the impact of the current legal framework of the EEU and the Customs Union member states on the production and sale of motor vehicles; and assesses the degree of localization of passenger car production achieved by individual manufacturers, taking into account the localization requirements stipulated by the regulatory legal acts of the Customs Union member states.

 

The third chapter describes the enterprises producing automotive components, their share in the industry, and the main types of component production in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

The fourth chapter presents data on the structure of automotive components production.

 

Data on auto component imports for industrial assembly and aftermarket sales are contained in Chapter Five. It also compares import levels with local production, highlighting key industry challenges and trends in the auto component sector.
