According to Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (ACAB), despite the largest monthly drop in the entire history of statistical observations in April, when a little more than a thousand cars were sold, the new car market in the country fell by only 3% to 18 968 units

Based on the results of January-April, Kazakhstani dealers sold 6 890 crossovers and SUVs total cost 87,5 billion tenge, which in physical terms per 15% less than similar indicators in 2019. Almost a quarter of all cars sold are in the price range from 11 to 13 million tenge.

Remains the bestseller in the SUV segment on the Kazakh market Hyundai, and the share of these cars increased from 24% in 2019 to 30% in the current one – almost every third crossover. In January-April it was sold in the country 2 421 SUV segment cars produced in Kostanay (+6,6% compared to the first four months of 2019).

Share Toyota in the segment fell to 17%. Moreover, this is the only brand in the ranking (except RAV4), whose cars are imported into our country from foreign countries. Crossovers and SUVs of the Japanese brand sold out in 1 167 cars (-25,5%). In third place with market share 9% crossovers Kia. Dealers managed to implement 593 car (+ 45 %).

Premium cars account for 9% of all crossovers sold – 637 units Main sales Lexus (295 units) and BMW (154 units).

Continues to lead in the individual competition Hyundai Tucson (1 113 units). Second position in the reporting period behind the crossover Hyundai creta - 698 cars. The third one Kia Sportage - 427 units The whole trinity is made in Kazakhstan. The top ten most popular SUVs in Kazakhstan are completed by: Hyundai Santa Fe - 245 units, Renault Duster (236 units), Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (226 units) and Nissan X-Trail - 202 sold car.

Based on the results of the first four months, Almaty remains the leader in Kazakhstan in terms of the number of new cars sold in the SUV segment. The second place is occupied by the capital Nur-Sultan, Shymkent closes the top three cities with the largest number of buyers of crossovers and SUVs. In general, according to ACAB analysts, sales statistics by city are as follows: Almaty (1 863 units), Nur-Sultan (1 460 units), Shymkent (555 units), Kostanay (461 units), Karaganda (439 units), Atyrau (322 units), Ust-Kamenogorsk (287 units), Uralsk (283 units), Pavlodar (255 units) and Aktobe (252 units).
