The average cost of a new car in Kazakhstan is 8,7 million tenge.

According to the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB), in the eleven months of 2018, Kazakhstanis spent on the purchase of new passenger cars 493,3 billion tenge. This figure is on 33% more than the same period last year. In total, from January to December in Kazakhstan, 55 162 cars (44 047unit for January-November 2017).

The weighted average price of one passenger car was 8,7 million tenge (+ 7,4 %). The average cost of new imported cars increased by 22,2% and compiled 12,1 million tenge. Domestic-assembled models have risen in price by only 12,8% and now cost on average 5,3 million tenge.

The most important factor in the growth of the cost of new cars is the exchange rate of the national currency. The increase was largely dictated by the weakening of the tenge - currency fluctuations led to a revision of prices by Kazakh dealers working primarily with imports.

​​​​​​​The cost of Kazakhstan-made cars is less subject to changes, and the share of domestic cars continues to grow. At the end of 11 months, the figure reached 48%, vs 36% in 2017. That is, every second car sold in a car dealership is made in Kazakhstan.

 

 

 

According to the results of January-November, a quarter of all buyers (25,8%) preferred cars in the price range from 3 to 5 million tenge20,3% buyers made a choice in favor of cars that cost from 5 to 7 million tenge. A little more 20%choose cars from 7 to 11 million tenge.

The top ten best-selling passenger car brands are headed by Lada 12 061 auto (+ 56,1 % compared to the same period in 2017). Toyota with results 11 215 cars since the beginning of the year (+ 34,6 %) retains second position. Continues to get close to the leaders Hyundai Kazakhstan production. Record growth and third place in less than a year (7 units; + 626%).
