In Wolfsburg, Germany, VW Group and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd (JAC) signed a memorandum of understanding on partnership in the development of electric vehicles, as European concerns recognize the level and speed of technological growth in the Chinese auto industry.
In accordance with the signed document, the parties will concentrate their efforts on the development of new energy vehicles (NEV) - electric cars and hybrids - based on existing platforms and their new iterations.
The Jac brand is very popular in its homeland, China (leading in a number of segments and receiving awards for the best car design and safety level).
The electric vehicle and alternative industries are actively promoted, as Jac has significant engineering and technical capabilities, laboratories and research and production sites.
More than a year ago, an agreement was signed to begin production of cars of this brand in Kazakhstan.
Sales began in the second half of 2015. And in just a year, a new brand for Kazakhstanis has confidently become one of the leaders in the production of Kazakhstani cars.
It is worth noting that the reason for Kazakhstanis choosing cars of this brand is the affordable price and high quality, appreciated not only by Kazakhstanis, but also by German manufacturers
In Kazakhstan, budget models J5, J6, S3, S5 and M5 are presented, capable of covering the needs for family use and work in the SME sector.
As a result of the brand entering the most difficult time for the domestic automobile industry, it is obvious that Kazakhstanis primarily consider the price range, technical characteristics and design of the car to be purchased. At the same time, even the usual critical attitude towards Chinese-made goods is offset by the fact that the car was produced in Kazakhstan.
The JAC automobile brand is a unique project, in less than a year of implementation and operation, the brand won the “Best Products for the Population” nomination with the JAC S 3 car in the “Best Product of Kazakhstan” competition-exhibition.
