From the production site of SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP, President of the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business Andrey Lavrentyev reported to the President on significant changes in the automotive industry during the national teleconference “New industrialization of Kazakhstan: results of 2014 and the first five-year plan”
In his speech, Andrey Lavrentyev emphasized that the first five-year plan of the state program for accelerated industrial and innovative development of Kazakhstan helped the formation of the domestic automotive industry. “Mr. President, with your support, a new industry has been created - the automobile industry, which annually produces products worth $2 billion,” the speaker reported.
The automotive industry is developing dynamically. In GP FIID 2, the Kazakh automobile industry is already considered as one of the priority sectors of the economy. Domestic enterprises show a successful example of development. For example, in Kostanay, at the AgrmoashHolding and SaryarkaAvtoProm factories, the production of five global automobile brands has been established: SsangYong Nomad, Hyundai, Geely, Peugeot, as well as Japanese Toyota SUVs. Agreements were also concluded with French partners on small-scale assembly of Peugeot cars with welding and painting. A full-cycle automobile plant with a capacity of 120 thousand cars per year is being built in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The production of Hyundai trucks and buses has been mastered in the Almaty region. By 2018, the capacity of all automobile manufacturing enterprises will reach 190 thousand cars per year. As Andrey Lavrentyev noted, this will create about 20 thousand new jobs, including in small medium-sized businesses producing auto components. The speaker also thanked the head of state for his close attention to the automotive industry and assured that despite the difficult times in the global economy, automakers will do everything possible to develop the domestic automobile industry. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, in turn, expressed gratitude to the machine builders for their contribution to the development of the industry and wished them good luck in their future endeavors.
