The sporting event was held as part of the celebration of the “Day of Mechanical Engineers of Kazakhstan” by the engineering plants of Agromashholding KZ JSC and SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP.
Every year, industry employees celebrate their professional holiday on the last Sunday of September. Traditionally, workers at mechanical engineering factories are awarded badges of honor for their contribution to the development of the industry, but in 2019, mechanical engineers from Kostanay decided to organize a festive race.
About 100 people took part in the marathon, including factory workers, managers and executives of Agromashholding KZ JSC and SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP. It is noteworthy that all the equipment, as well as the award material, was manufactured at the factory by the race participants themselves. For example, the medals for the winners of the marathon were cast by mechanical engineers in the shape of pistons used in the production of agricultural machinery.
“It is very important for us to maintain team spirit among employees. Our Kazakh machine builders, like all other workers in the industry, work with iron; this is daily physical labor, which does not always find recognition in society. Moreover, at the plant we actively support a healthy lifestyle, so we organized a marathon and cast medals for the winners ourselves,” notes PETER MAKSAKOV, production director of Agromashholding KZ JSC.
At the end of the marathon, the winners and participants were awarded medals and honorary prizes. Also, this event was held under the strict supervision of the Triathlon Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As part of the celebration of the Day of Mechanical Engineers of Kazakhstan, a festive concert will also be held with the participation of Kazakh stars and industry employees themselves, who were preparing for this event and were selected.
Mechanical engineering is a priority sector of industrial and innovative development of Kazakhstan. Over the years of implementation of the industrialization program, mechanical engineering has become one of the most dynamically developing industries: its production volume increased almost 3 times and exceeded the 1 trillion tenge mark in 2018. In 2019, high growth dynamics continued. According to the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, over the years of implementation of the industrialization program in the engineering industry, 114 projects worth about 276 billion tenge have been implemented and about 11 thousand jobs have been created. Since 2000, the volume of mechanical engineering production in Kazakhstan has increased 24 times, amounting to 2018 trillion tenge at the end of 1,1.
