Car production in Kazakhstan in 2018 will increase by 1,4-1,6 times - AKAB

Almaty. December 28th. INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN – Car production in Kazakhstan in 2018 will amount to 25-30 thousand units, the Association of Kazakhstan Automotive Business (AKAB) told the Interfax-Kazakhstan agency.

“We assume that 2017 will end at 18 thousand cars. The passenger car segment remains the leader in production. It accounts for 88,1% of the total quantitative production volume or 14 thousand 585 units for 11 months of 2017, which is 3 times higher than the same result in 2016. Also, 621 units of buses and 1 units of trucks were produced in Kazakhstan. In 341, it is planned to increase production volumes at all sites in the republic to 2018-25 thousand cars,” the association specified.

Thus, production in 2018 may increase by 1,4-1,6 times.

Also, according to the preliminary forecast of ACAB, the sales volume in the car market in 2018 will be 70 thousand vehicles of all types of vehicles, of which 16 thousand are commercial vehicles and buses, 54 thousand are passenger cars. AKAB expects official sales growth in 2018 to be 15-20%.

“At the same time, the share of sales of Kazakhstan-made cars will reach a level of up to 50%, buyers will give preference to cars in the low and medium price segment, and the preferential lending program will continue to operate, which allows the purchase of locally assembled vehicles,” noted AKAB.
