Car sales on the official market of the Republic of Kazakhstan increased by 34% in June

At the end of the first half of 2017, official dealers sold 20 units. new cars for a total amount of 876 billion tenge including exports. Kazakhstanis spent 180,7 billion tenge on the purchase of cars in June.

According to AKAB, official sales in June amounted to 5172 vehicles, including exports, which is 34% more than the May result (3868 units in May).

On the Kazakhstan market Toyota still tops the list of sales leaders; 861 cars of this brand were sold in July. In second place Lada  with a result of 857 units. Closes the top three  UAZ  with a figure of 287 cars. Traditionally, Ravon and Renault are in the top 5 sales, occupying fourth and fifth places respectively.

A significant increase in sales in July was demonstrated by cars of brands SsangYong  (+ 146%), Renault (+ 71%), Chevrolet (+59%) and JAC (+ 44%)

Among the brands that showed a decline are:  Skoda (-40%) -40%, Infiniti (-46%) Ford (-57%).

The commercial vehicle market is also experiencing significant sales dynamics. Brand cars Iveco showed unprecedented growth, increasing sales to 213 units in June against 8 cars in May. Car sales also showed an increase KAMAZ (118 units in June versus 71 units in May) and Mercedes-Benz Trucks (18 units in June versus 5 units in May).

In total, commercial vehicles account for 18,6% of the total sales market. Of these, trucks – 64%, LCVs – 15,7%, buses – 20,3%.

In the segment of domestically produced buses, the main percentage belongs to buses of the Iveco brand - 89%, the rest of the segment is shared by Hyundai and LiAZ.

June 2017 was marked not only by an increase in demand within the country, but also by a multiple increase in export sales - this month 584 cars were exported to foreign markets, while in May the export volume was 47 units. In just 6 months of this year, 925 cars were exported. Let us remind you that Kazakhstan exports Hyundai commercial equipment, JAC, Toyota, Lexus and Lada passenger cars.

The share of sales of domestically produced cars in June increased by 35,3% compared to May and amounted to 46,8%. The volume of imports decreased accordingly - in June, the share of imported cars accounted for 53,2% of total sales.

In June, the second stage of the program for recycling end-of-life vehicles began - issuing discount certificates. ACAB experts predict that the implementation of this program will contribute to the growth of sales of domestically produced cars.
