According to Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB) in Kazakhstan, for the second month in a row, record monthly sales figures are recorded - in May, Kazakhstani dealers sold 14 688 units passenger cars and commercial vehicles, Present in several = 77,2% more than in May last year. In total, in five months of 2023, Kazakhstanis purchased 66 331 units new cars, trucks and buses, which is more than last year’s result by Present in several = 65,8%.
There was a reshuffle in the top ten brands in May - Hyundai sold 4 cars (+333% by may last year) ahead of Chevrolet (3 units; +300%). Based on the results of five months, Chevrolet is in the lead with an advantage of 25,5 cars. The Kia brand is already traditionally in third position – 243 units. (+2%). Chery cars continue to occupy fourth place on the chart – 198 units. (+140,5%). Haval is in fifth place with 665 units, followed by Changan with 221,3 units. Next on the list: Toyota – (626 units; -517%), Exeed – 500 (+22%), Lexus (379 units; +279%) and Geely (333 units).
In the TOP 10 most popular models in May, domestically produced cars Chevrolet Cobalt (2 units) and Hyundai Tucson (277 units) continue to lead, with Kia Sportage in third place (1 units).
Next on the list: Hyundai Elantra (905 units), Hyundai Sonata (618 units.), Chevrolet Nexia (605 units.), Hyundai Santa Fe (576 units.), Hyundai Bayon (405 units.), chery tiggo 7 pro (363 units) and Kia K5 (328 units).
