From January to July, more than half a million cars were registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan

According to the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB), provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, from January to July of this year in Kazakhstan, 559 units of equipment were registered with the administrative police, which is 802% more than in the same period last year. Of these, 16 units. had to register equipment that has changed owners - that is, secondary registration. The number of initially registered cars amounted to 524 units, which is 734% less than last year.

At the end of July, the number of cars registered reached 87 units, exceeding last year's result by 216%. Of these, 15 units. amounted to resales on the secondary market (+81% compared to the results of July 279).

The Almaty region remains the leader in the number of registrations - 79 cars were registered here during the reporting period, which is 323 cars or 14% more than in the same period last year.

The South Kazakhstan region is in second place by the number of registrations; in 2017, 73 cars were registered with the traffic police, an increase of 039% compared to last year.

The fewest cars were registered in the North Kazakhstan and West Kazakhstan regions - 14 units and 918 units, respectively.

72% of the total volume of vehicles re-registered during the period from January to July of this year were vehicles over 10 years old. 7% - cars up to 3 years old.

In the segment of initial registrations, 86% are for cars from 0 to 3 years old, and 8% for vehicles older than 10 years.

Toyota remained the leader in the number of registrations this year – 87 cars of this brand were registered during the reporting period. The number of registrations of most popular brands such as Volkswagen, Mercedes, Audi and Mitsubishi has increased

This year, 501 (977%) passenger cars and minibuses, 89,7 (34%) trucks, 454 (6,2%) trailers, 15 (161%) buses, 2,7 ( 5205%) motorcycles, scooters and other motor vehicles.

According to the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business, sales volume on the official market from January to July 2017 amounted to 25292 cars, including exports. Of these, 37% are domestic production.

In 2017 (January-May period), the share of official sales of the total number of cars registered for the first time in the Republic of Kazakhstan was 73%, while in 2016 for the same period it was 78%. However, compared to 2015, when official sales accounted for only 56%, the leap from gray schemes to the open market can be called significant. However, in 2017 there was an increase in the level of resale of used cars in the domestic market. If last year 6% of buyers registered new cars from showrooms, then in 2017 their share was 4%. ACAB associates this trend with an increase in prices for new cars this year and a decrease in the purchasing power of real wages of the middle class of the population.
